Neurological diseases are mainly diagnosed on the basis of a medical history and a clinical neurological examination. In addition to this, certain functions of the nervous system are also examined using apparatus-based methods.

Neurological functional diagnostics

At the MVZ Mühldorf a. Inn, all neurological functional diagnostics procedures are available for this purpose:

Ultrasound examination (duplex and Doppler sonography) of the intracranial and extracranial vessels supplying the brain
Visualization of electrical brain activity (electroencephalography, EEG)
Determination of nerve conduction velocities (neurography)
Measurement of muscular electrical activity (electromyography, EMG)
Measurements of brain activity after stimulation of the sensory organs (visual, acoustic or somatosensory evoked potentials)

If necessary, a quick referral can also be made for a computer tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
