Anesthesia
The anesthesia department is a central service provider at MVZ Mühldorf a. Inn. It offers you a comprehensive range of highly competent services from twilight sleep to general anesthesia. For every operation, a specialist anaesthetist and his team ensure an anxiety-free and pain-free procedure.
During a premedication consultation, the patient is informed about the risks of the anesthetic procedure.
A suitable anesthesia procedure is selected for each procedure together with the patient, taking into account factors specific to the procedure.
Seamless monitoring
During every anesthesia procedure, all relevant circulatory parameters such as ECG, blood pressure, respiratory gases and oxygen supply are continuously measured and recorded. The patient is monitored by an anesthetist and an anesthesiologist until transfer/discharge.
- Twilight sleep
During twilight sleep, your entire perception is dampened. You are virtually unaware of the treatment and wake up completely relaxed afterwards.
- Local anesthesia or topical anesthesia
Only a small area of the body is made insensible (e.g. for minor surgical procedures). Certain anesthetics are used to eliminate pain without affecting the patient’s consciousness. Local anesthetics temporarily interrupt the conduction of nerve impulses. As a result, pain signals no longer reach the brain and the anaesthetized area is pain-free. How long the anesthesia lasts depends on the type of local anesthetic. The anaesthetist chooses the location and type of injection depending on the size of the area to be anaesthetized.
- Regional anesthesia or partial anesthesia
It covers a larger area of the body, e.g. an arm or leg or the entire lower body. In all procedures, the pain is eliminated using local anesthetics. Regional anesthesia includes spinal anesthesia and peripheral conduction anesthesia for regional anesthesia of the shoulder, arm and leg (e.g. plexus blocks, intravenous regional anesthesia). Peripheral conduction anesthesia is performed using modern, high-resolution ultrasound equipment. This technique has only advantages for the patient. The anesthesia has a high success rate, works faster and requires a smaller amount of local anesthetics.
- General anesthesia or general anesthesia
In general anesthesia, anesthetics are used to induce a state of unconsciousness with no sensation of pain and no memory. The muscles are relaxed and ventilation is ensured by an anesthesia machine. Highly effective, easily controllable drugs are used for this purpose, which allow the patient to wake up quickly after the operation and place comparatively little strain on the body.
